We want to inform you that OMNI will be temporarily ceasing operations as we restructure our platform and services. OMNI was founded with the mission of providing drivers with a fair, transparent, and profitable platform to operate their transportation businesses. Our vision has always been to create an ecosystem that empowers drivers while ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for passengers.
After extensive analysis of industry regulations, cost structures, and operational requirements, OMNI has made the difficult strategic decision not to pursue becoming a Transportation Network Company (TNC) or rideshare platform. Instead, OMNI will continue to operate as a TCP (Charter-Party Carrier), providing prearranged rides only under California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) guidelines.
While we initially aimed to serve all drivers, the heavily increasing regulations on TNCs and the excessive insurance costs required for maintaining a TNC structure have made it clear that this model is not sustainable for OMNI. The regulatory environment surrounding TNCs creates financial and operational burdens that would significantly impact driver earnings and the overall quality of service.
By remaining a TCP, OMNI can offer drivers more flexibility, competitive earnings, and a sustainable business model without being subjected to the restrictive policies imposed on TNCs.
OMNI will exclusively work with licensed professional drivers who meet the requirements to operate under a TCP license. The following criteria must be met:
✅ Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or TCP Certification
✅ Valid TCP Insurance (Commercial auto insurance policy compliant with CPUC regulations)
✅ Vehicle Requirements: Must meet California TCP commercial vehicle standards (luxury sedans, SUVs, or specialty vehicles preferred)
✅ Clean Driving Record & Background Check
✅ Clean Drug Screen
✅ Proper Business Registration (LLC, Sole Proprietorship, or Corporation)
OMNI is committed to maintaining a driver network that aligns with industry standards for professional prearranged transportation services.
Drivers who meet the above requirements can apply for registration through OMNI’s driver portal. Due to compliance checks and insurance verification, the onboarding process will be more selective than traditional rideshare companies.
⚠️ Important Notice: If a driver does not meet the necessary requirements, their registration will be placed on pause until all qualifications are met. OMNI reserves the right to limit new driver registrations based on market demand and operational capacity.
As part of this transition, OMNI will begin issuing refunds next week to drivers who previously paid an insurance fee of $100 or $10 or any reservation fees. We appreciate the trust and support from our driver community and remain committed to transparency and fairness in our operations. Further details on the refund process will be communicated directly to eligible drivers.
Passengers using OMNI will experience a different type of service, compared to traditional rideshare platforms. Our drivers will operate legally under California’s TCP regulations, ensuring a superior and reliable transportation experience.
OMNI remains dedicated to supporting professional drivers, enhancing passenger experiences, and creating a more sustainable transportation model. While we acknowledge that our shift away from TNC operations may limit access for some drivers, this decision is essential for maintaining a stable and safe business environment for our small team.

Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
OMNI Team
