Minimum Eligibility

To subscribe to OMNI’s driver app, you must meet the following:

Be at least 25 years or old

02

Hold a valid U.S. driver’s license. For standard background check verification.

03

A vehicle 2010 or newer with 5-8 seats, including the driver's

04

Consent to a third-party background check ($27.50 processing fee)

05

You Keep 100% of the Fare. Riders pay you directly. Omni does not take a cut. You only cover standard Stripe processing fees (~2.9% + $0.30 per transaction).

Participation in CPUC-approved drug & alcohol testing program ($62.50 fee)
Have a clean driving record
Own a smartphone compatible with the OMNI app
Insurance Fee ($100 one-time fee)

Some questions some answers

How does payment work?

Riders pay you directly via Stripe. Omni does not handle or hold your earnings. You receive 100% of the fare (minus Stripe’s standard processing fee of ~4%), plus any tips or bonuses.

What can I earn using Omni?

Your income depends on your hours, service type, and ride volume. Because Omni takes no commission, your potential earnings are more predictable and transparent.

Who pays for tolls or airport fees?

Riders are responsible for tolls, parking, and any travel-related fees during the ride. Omni does not manage or collect these charges on behalf of drivers.

What type of license do I need?

A standard driver’s license valid in your state of residence is sufficient. You are responsible for maintaining valid documentation to access the platform.

How much does OMNI pay drivers?

Drivers keep 85%* of the fare when they use OMNI. Uber and Lyft pay drivers 50% on average, and OMNI may charge customers a separate tech fee depending on the city.

*Minus Stripe fees, around 4%  — Stripe charges 2.9% + 30¢ for each successful charge.

Does OMNI provide coverage insurance?

Understanding OMNI's Insurance Coverage for Drivers

At OMNI, we believe it's important for you to understand how our insurance policies cover you and your passengers in the event of an incident. Below is an overview of how our insurance coverage works depending on your driving status with the OMNI app.

Coverage When the App is Off

When the OMNI app is turned off, your personal auto insurance is the only coverage that applies. OMNI's insurance does not cover any incidents that occur during this time.

Coverage When the App is On and Waiting for a Ride Request

While you are logged into the OMNI app and waiting for a ride request (Period 1), OMNI provides third-party liability insurance for covered accidents. This coverage applies if your personal insurance does not cover the incident. Here’s what is included:

Third-Party Liability: This covers damages you may cause to others if you're found at fault in an accident.

Coverage When the App is On and You Are En Route to Pick Up Passengers

When you have accepted a ride request and are on your way to pick up a passenger (Period 2), OMNI maintains the following coverage for covered accidents:

Third-Party Auto Liability: Coverage of at least $1,000,000.
First-Party Coverages: This may include uninsured motorist coverage, underinsured motorist coverage, personal injury protection (PIP), medical payments (MedPay), and/or occupational accident coverage.
Contingent Comprehensive & Collision Coverage: If you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your personal auto insurance policy, OMNI’s policy provides additional coverage up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a $2,500 deductible.

Coverage When the App is On and a Ride is In Progress

When a ride is in progress, meaning you have a passenger in your vehicle and are en route to their destination (Period 3), OMNI provides the following insurance coverage:

Third-Party Auto Liability: Coverage of at least $1,000,000.
First-Party Coverages: This may include uninsured motorist coverage, underinsured motorist coverage, PIP, MedPay, and/or occupational accident coverage.
Contingent Comprehensive & Collision Coverage: Like in Period 2, if you have comprehensive and collision coverage on your personal auto policy, OMNI maintains additional coverage up to the actual cash value of your vehicle, with a $2,500 deductible.

Important Notes

Personal Insurance Requirements:
It’s important to note that OMNI's contingent coverage is secondary to your personal auto insurance. You must have an active personal auto policy in place that meets your state's minimum requirements.
Deductibles: In the event of an accident, the contingent comprehensive and collision coverage provided by OMNI comes with a $2,500 deductible.

Does OMNI Provide Insurance?

No. Omni is not a transportation provider. Drivers are responsible for securing their own coverage. We may recommend providers that offer driver-friendly insurance but are not affiliated with any insurer. Some providers that offer rideshare-friendly coverage include State Farm, Allstate, Farmers Insurance, Metromile, and Progressive. Please note that these companies are not affiliated with Omni, and Omni does not sell insurance.
