Driver Responsibility & Requirements
Requirements for Providing Omni Rides
Effective Date: 08/18/2025
Last Updated: 11/28/2025
OMNI is not a transportation carrier or taxi company. OMNI is a technology and marketing platform that helps Riders pre-schedule trips and, where available, request on-demand rides from independent third-party drivers and fleets (“Third-Party Providers”). All transportation services are provided solely by these independent Third-Party Providers, not by OMNI.
By using OMNI as a Driver in Texas, you agree to operate as an independent business and to meet the responsibilities and requirements in this document.
Key Requirements Before Onboarding
Before you begin your onboarding process, please review the requirements below to ensure a smooth and efficient setup.
Vehicle Requirements
Mileage Limit
Your vehicle must have less than 200,000 miles on the odometer at the time of onboarding.
Vehicle Registration
You must upload a copy of your valid state vehicle registration (Texas, or the state where your vehicle is legally registered).
Vehicle Inspection
A vehicle inspection may be required depending on your city and insurance provider.
If requested, you must upload a recent inspection form (no older than one year) that includes the odometer reading. Forms without an odometer reading may be rejected.
Insurance Requirements
You must provide current personal auto insurance for the vehicle you plan to drive with OMNI.
If you have commercial auto insurance, you may upload that instead. You are responsible for ensuring that your coverage is appropriate for the way you use your vehicle (e.g., TNC/for-hire use, if applicable under Texas law).
Dash Cam (Optional but Recommended)
OMNI recommends that Drivers install a dash cam in their vehicle to enhance safety, documentation, and accountability.
Dash cams are optional and not required for activation on the OMNI Platform.
Drivers who choose to use a dash cam are responsible for purchasing, installing, and maintaining their own equipment, and for complying with all applicable Texas recording and privacy laws.
Background Check
If you do not have a valid background check completed within the last 12 months, you’ll need to complete one through Yardstik, OMNI’s third-party provider.
The fee is $22, paid directly through Yardstik when you submit your background check.
OMNI may periodically require updated screenings to maintain platform access, where permitted by law.
Driver Orientation (Coming Soon)
All Drivers will be required to complete a short online orientation before driving with OMNI.
Orientation will cover platform usage, safety expectations, service quality, and basic compliance reminders.
OMNI will send you scheduling or access details once orientation sessions open in Texas.
1. Driver Standards & Qualifications
Drivers must:
Be at least 25 years old.
Hold a valid Texas driver’s license.
Be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Pass any required background and driving record checks, where permitted by law.
Maintain accurate personal information, including contact details and banking information, in the OMNI Platform.
2. Vehicle Requirements
Your vehicle must:
Be properly registered in Texas (or another U.S. state where it is legally registered) and meet applicable safety inspection requirements.
Be in safe, clean, and passenger-ready condition (inside and out).
Have no major visible damage or safety-related defects.
Meet any minimum year, body style, and equipment standards specified by OMNI for the service tiers you wish to offer (e.g., Standard, XL, Black), as communicated in the Driver App or onboarding materials.
OMNI may require an initial vehicle inspection and may periodically request updated inspections or vehicle photos.
3. Insurance & Licensing
Drivers are fully responsible for:
Maintaining valid and sufficient auto insurance for their operations in Texas, including any coverage required for TNC, for-hire, or similar services, if applicable.
Carrying proof of insurance and registration in the vehicle at all times while providing services through OMNI.
Complying with all Texas laws and any local regulations related to ground transportation and commercial use of vehicles.
OMNI does not provide, sell, or guarantee insurance coverage. If your insurance lapses or becomes invalid, you must cease using the OMNI Platform until proper coverage is reinstated and verified.
4. Documentation & Compliance
Before you begin accepting trips, and on an ongoing basis, you must:
Upload legible copies of required documents (e.g., driver’s license, registration, insurance, inspection form, and, when applicable, background check clearance).
Keep documents up to date and re-upload them prior to expiration.
Notify OMNI promptly of any material changes, including:
License suspension or restriction,
Major accidents or violations,
Insurance cancellation or lapse,
Vehicle changes.
OMNI may suspend or deactivate your account if required documents are missing, expired, or invalid, or if background check results no longer meet OMNI’s eligibility criteria.
5. Professional Conduct & Service
As a Driver, you are expected to:
Drive safely and obey all traffic laws in Texas and any locality where you operate.
Treat Riders courteously and professionally at all times.
Respect Rider privacy and use their contact information only as needed to complete trips or address immediate trip-related issues.
Keep your vehicle’s interior clean and reasonably comfortable (including climate control where available).
Avoid harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate conversation or behavior.
6. Use of the OMNI Platform
You agree to:
Use the Driver App and OMNI tools only for lawful purposes.
Not manipulate or falsify trip data, fares, or locations.
Not share your Driver account with others or allow unapproved drivers to operate under your profile.
Follow OMNI’s guidelines for app usage, trip management, cancellations, and communication.
OMNI may monitor trip data and account activity to help detect fraud, abuse, or safety issues.
7. Cancellations & Reliability
Avoid repeated cancellations or no-shows without legitimate reasons.
Only accept trips you are reasonably able to complete on time.
Communicate promptly through the App if you encounter delays, emergencies, or difficulties locating the Rider.
Repeated reliability issues (including excessive cancellations, no-shows, or late arrivals) may result in warnings, temporary suspension, or permanent deactivation.
8. Tax & Business Responsibilities
You are responsible for:
Treating your driving activity as an independent business, including any registrations or permits that may be required for your operations.
Paying all applicable federal, state, and local taxes on your earnings (including income and self-employment taxes).
Keeping appropriate records of trips, payouts, and expenses for tax and business purposes.
OMNI does not withhold or remit taxes on your behalf. OMNI may provide informational tax forms as required by law.
9. Disclaimer
OMNI does not employ Drivers.
OMNI does not own vehicles or operate transportation services.
OMNI does not guarantee any specific level of earnings, ride volume, or income.
By driving on the OMNI Platform, you acknowledge that you are solely responsible for your transportation operations, compliance obligations, and conduct.
